Hi, I’m Rea! I’ve pretty much lived in the Midwest my entire life, almost a perfect split between Minnesota & Wisconsin. The Midwest has shaped me into the person I am today– my values, work ethic, and (you betcha) accent are all thanks to my homeland.
Even though I call the Midwest my home, been lucky enough to travel around the country and globe. In the last several years, I’ve stepped foot in California, Florida, Ireland, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Austria. I have a love for travel and can’t wait to see where else I get to explore in the future!
Photography has always been a big part of who I am as a person. I started taking senior photos my senior year of high school, and participated in yearbook where I helped take event photos and layout. Since then, I’ve had a lot of fun capturing seniors! I’ve recently expanded into couples photography, which I’m excited to explore more in the future! There isn’t a style I don’t love. I’m always willing to take my camera everywhere and take a bazillion photos of my friends or the location. My camera roll on my phone is just shy of 20,000.
As I’ve gotten older, I took graphic design and video classes and fell in love with those art forms. I studied media arts in college and got the chance to grow my skills and create some cool art with seriously amazing people. I currently work in graphic design and social media, and love getting to see my art in print and online, and seeing people’s reactions to it!
In the past few years, I’ve enjoyed a lot of success in various art fields. I consistently book clients year after year, some even travelling to my neck of the woods just to collab. My senior capstone film “A Rush at the Beginning” has received several accolades at different festivals, both at the state and national level. I helped co-write the film “Hinterland” which just recently won Best of Fest at the Eagan Art Block Film Festival (“A Rush at the Beginning” won the student film category the year prior)! I’ve also had amazing opportunities to see my design work out in the real world. I’m incredibly blessed and that’s all I can muster.
In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and fiance, taking hikes in nature, or listening to music on vinyl. One of the greatest things about my life is the fact that my fiance, Alec, is crazy talented in the film world and we’ve gotten the chance to collab on various projects. Not only are we perfect life partners, but we’re pretty awesome collaboration partners too!
If you like what you see and read, please reach out! I would love to connect and document your special event, whether it’s your wedding, senior year, or just an average Tuesday afternoon.
